FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How much does it cost?

During our estimate visit, we will determine the cost of the stump grinding. A number of factors will contribute to the calculation of the price, including: the number of trees stumps, any roots involved, how large the stump is, the time involved, and how difficult of an area it is to get into. If you need an extra services such as grass or tree planting, we will offer this in addition to the stump grinding quote.

  • How long will it take?

Our estimator will give you an approximate time that the work will take to complete. It will vary based on the size of the stump, where the stump is located and what you'd like done to the area once the stump is removed. Most of the time we can complete the work in less than 1 hour.

  • What do you do with the wood chips?

Depending on the size of the stump, a substantial amount of wood chips can be left over. There are a couple of options that can be done with the chips. The cheapest option is to be left to fill the hole where the stump was. They will eventually break down over time. The chips can also be mixed with top soil and added to your flower beds or gardens and makes excellent fertilizer. The chips can also be composted and over time make a great compost addition.

  • Can you grind a stump in a small location?

The location of the stump can be a challenge in some cases. Too close to the homes foundation, next to a fence or other trees. We will pay special attention to these obstacles and our estimator will walk you through the process we will use to safely remove the stump.

  • Will stump grinding kill the roots?

Stump grinding does kill the roots since the trees leaves are needed by the trees roots to provide nutrients through photosynthesis. We will grind any exposed roots to ensure that the area is smooth and no larger roots are left.

  • Do you replant the area?

Yes, we offer replanting services. Our estimator will ask you what you want done once the stump is ground down. We can either leave the chips where they are, rake up the chips, add soil and replant grass or plant a new tree.
